For complete step-by-step guidance, open Navmark and click Help → How-To.
Quick Start
Use your browser’s bookmark star
(in the Chrome/Edge or Firefox address bar) to save any page.
- Press Ctrl+T or the + button or Navmark Extension Icon to open Navmark.
- Use Tabs Dropdown to bookmark, pin, or close open tabs without leaving Navmark.
- Click a folder (subfolders or breadcrumbs) to enter it.
- Click a bookmark to open it in a new tab.
- Right click a bookmark to edit it.
- Drag bookmarks up to Breadcrumb folders or down to Subfolders.
- Drag bookmarks to new location in bookmark list.
Important: Use a Regular Browser Profile
Navmark must be used in a regular browser profile (signed-in or not — both are fine).
Do not use Chrome/Edge’s Guest mode or Firefox Private Browsing as your default profile. These modes clear extension data when the browser closes, which prevents Navmark from saving your license and settings.
Pin Navmark for Quick Access
- Chrome/Edge: Click the extensions icon (puzzle piece) in the toolbar, find Navmark, and click the pin icon.
- Firefox: Click the extensions icon in the toolbar, find Navmark, and select “Pin to Toolbar.”
Navmark Free vs. Pro
Free: Bookmarks, folders, drag-and-drop, edit, move, and export.
Pro adds: Bookmark, Folder, Tab, and Recent search dropdowns, plus Discover (explore your bookmark collections using Perplexity or ChatGPT).
Pro is available during the trial period. Purchase a license to continue after the trial ends. Activate your license in Help → Settings & License → Activate Pro.
Managing Tabs
Open the Tabs dropdown to see all open tabs. From there you can:
- Bookmark any tab — saves it directly into a folder of your choice.
- Pin tabs you want to protect from single-close or bulk-close actions.
- Close individual tabs you are done with.
- Close & Save Unpinned Tabs — closes all unpinned tabs and saves them automatically into a date-labeled folder (All Saved Navmark Tabs) for review later. It’s a good way to clear clutter without losing anything.
- Close Unpinned Tabs — closes all unpinned tabs and does not save them. It’s a good way to clear clutter when open tabs are no longer needed.
The Recent dropdown shows your last 500 visited URLs — useful if you closed a tab you meant to keep.
Bookmarks
- Add a bookmark using the Add Bookmark card visible in every folder, or click the bookmark star in the address bar, or right-click any page.
- Search your bookmarks using the Bookmarks dropdown.
- Drag bookmarks to reorder them within a folder, or drop them into a subfolder or breadcrumb folder.
- Select multiple bookmarks with the checkmark icon or Cmd/Ctrl-Click to move, open, or delete them as a group.
- Edit or move a single bookmark by right-clicking it or clicking the stylus icon.
Folders
- Create subfolders with the green + Add Subfolder button inside any folder.
- Folders are always in alphabetical order — rename them to control ordering.
- Drag folders into other folders, or up into the breadcrumb trail to move them.
- Search for folders by name using the Folders dropdown.
- Bookmarks cannot be placed in top-level “Navmark” folder.
Discovery
The Discover button sends your selected bookmarks to an AI service (ChatGPT or Perplexity) to help you find new websites and information related to your existing collections. You control exactly what is shared before anything is submitted.
